All Are Welcome Here

A Welcoming & Inclusive Spiritual Community in Damariscotta, ME

Friends, I am sorry to bring you the news that Martin Imm has died. A visitor from North Shore Meeting brought us that news yesterday.

Obituary

Martin Hilmar Imm Jr., 88 died unexpectedly on June 20, 2023, from a fatal battle with pneumonia.

Martin and Judith treasured their beautiful Maine land on the Medomak River, but as Judith’s Alzheimer’s disease progressed, Martin moved her to long-term care on the North Shore. He was a sensitive advocate for his wife, visiting her regularly while he closed up their Maine home and relocated to Ipswich. Judith died on January 1, 2022, at the completion of their move.

Martin fortunately found a welcoming community and became active at the Ipswich Senior Center and with the North Shore Friends Meeting.

Martin is survived by his daughters Elizabeth A. Imm, of France, and May Moran Nyström of Sweden; his grandchildren, Francesca Louise Imm, of Malta, Nicholas Christopher Imm, of UK, Clement Gabriel Varin-Bernier Imm of France, Harrison Charles Varin-Bernier Imm of Vermont, Jesper Öqvist of Sweden, Simon Penrowe of Sweden, Bernhard Nyström of Sweden, Merrit Nyström of Sweden; his great grandchildren, Henry Karl Martin Penrowe, Sophie Penrowe, Ylva Haraldsson; his sister Karin Antoinette Gelotte, niece Kirsten Viera, nephews Karl Martin Gelotte and Kepler Gelotte. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife Judith L. Imm (née George) of Ipswich and dear son Christopher Martin Imm of San Francisco.

Services for Martin will be held privately at the request of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to
https://www.mercyhousing.org/donate/ or New England Quakers https://neym.org/support in Martin’s honor. Information, Questions, Condolences at www.CampbellFuneral.com.

About Us

We believe that everyone may directly and inwardly feel divine love, healing, and guidance. This belief is at the heart of the Quaker religion. We have discovered that by following this advice, we are capable of changing—even being transformed—and becoming people who live lives that reflect the Light and Love of God. We come together as the group of individuals known as "Friends" because of this hope, welcome, and commitment.

You don’t have to be a “member” to join us for worship, service or fun! All are welcome to participate in our life together.
